Red Box Project, Baby Basics, The extra mile, The hygiene Bank and Food bank.

17.10.2019

We are very lucky to be working alongside these amazing projects!

The red box project primarily supplies sanitary products to schools, but has now branched out into local community settings as well. Period poverty is a national problem, so we feel very lucky to have a red box here, at Hanworth Methodist Church. So whether you are in need of one, or a months worth of sanitary supplies then please do ask either Jenni or Vicci for the red box.

Baby Basics is a charity run out of Sunbury Methodist Church, and supplies expectant parents in need with everything needed for the first 3 months of a baby's life, including a moses basket, clothes and nappies. Referrals can now be made via Vicci or Jenni, and no details other than the recipients initials, and due date will be shared.

The extra mile is a charity that continues on from baby basics, in that it helps families with children up to the age of 5. Running from Hampton Methodist church, referrals can be made via Vicci, again in the strictist confidence.

The hygiene bank are a charity that runs out of Sunbury, who not only help with providing sanitary products, but also toiletries and items such as toothpaste. We are looking forward to receiving our box next week, and handing out products to those in our local community who are in need.

We can also refer anyone who is need to a local food bank.

If you or anyone that you know may benefit from any of these amazing initiatives, then please do pop in and have a chat with either Vicci or Jenni. They can also be contacted by email if preferred.

Introducing Jenni, Our New Centre Manager

Hi Everyone! My name is Jenni Matthews, and i am lucky enough to have been employed as the new centre manager for Hanworth Methodist Church!

This means that I will be in charge of running the stay and play sessions, The 'Nailed It' girls group, and also staffing the new coffee bar! But i really do feel as though the most important aspect of my job is to try and bring our community together. I have lived on Butts Farm for 14 years, and I love how much we are all there for each other in times of need. I am really hoping to expand this sense of belonging to everyone who lives here! So please pop in and say hello! Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions. Arrange to meet that neighbour for a tea or coffee. Or pop in by yourself and have a chat to whoever else may be around.

I really am looking forward to meeting you all.

Our Community Fun day

Our Community Fun day was held on the 26th August, in the blistering summer heat. It was a wonderful day, with cakes for sale, ducks hooked, pieces of art created, health checks completed, biscuits decorated, rats bashed, toys played with, smoothies consumed, tombolas won, alongside other fun and games! We would like to thank all of our volunteers, without you, creating so many happy, smiling faces just wouldn't be possible!
